Crime

Allston is by no means a place where you might leave your front door open when you leave the house, or leave your windows down in your car all the time. It is by all means the city, and should be treated as such and with common sense, as anything could happen at any time. This said, compared to surrounding areas such as the Fenway/Kenmore area, Cambridge, and most areas of boston, it is relatively safe. Compared to most other areas, violent crimes are relatively uncommon. Crimes that are very common tend to be things associated with college towns such as loud parties, public drunkeness, OUI, and general trouble causing by less desierable residents.
